Summary

My MA User Experience Final Year Major Project, DOME was a spark conception of a conversation, The Cost of Living: The Cost of Freedom, about the potential of advertisements and their impact on the home experience. This project consists of a real-scale installation of a residential space, populated with cutting-edge gadgets which collect private data to deliver personalised ads in unconventional ways. Dome allows users to live in their apartments at no monetary cost but in exchange for their attention and data. Combining the best designs in household products and the sleekest interface designs for advert display, DOME allows

  • Companies to target adverts in a completely new environment.
  • Users to become less preoccupied with the cost of living.
  • Third parties to collect invaluable data on a potentially large segment.
